The mornings and evenings in Fresno are finally chilly again after a long, hot, drawn-out summer season.
And, just like with Fresno heatwaves, winters can serve up expensive energy bills.
However, there are ways to lower those bills, and Fresno EOC wants to show you how. It is hosting a special event from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday at its downtown campus (1900 Mariposa St.)
How Can You Reduce Your Energy Bill?
Fresno EOC Energy Services Director Joseph Amader says the event is important for families to attend as it can help them learn about energy savings, as well as the benefits of weatherizing their residences.
In addition, families can apply for state programs that help pay electricity bills and overdue water bills. Residents will learn if they are eligible for energy cost reductions and gain tips on health and safety.
“As part of the assessment process, we conduct combustion appliance safety tests on natural gas and propane heating systems, water heaters, and stoves to ensure they are operating safely,” said Amader.
Lunch, Music, Games
In addition to the informational services, attendees who sign up for programs will also be treated to lunch, music, games, and prizes.
