The Diocese of Fresno is inviting all first responders, their families, and community members to its 8th annual Blue Mass at 12:15 p.m. on Friday at St. John’s Cathedral.
The Blue Mass, which is a Catholic tradition throughout the nation, offers up prayers for all active, retired, and fallen first responders.
After the mass, Bishop Joseph Brennan will bless the badges and vehicles of first responders.
“We owe an immense debt of gratitude to those who serve us every day, for those who protect us every day, and for those who risk their own safety and sometimes even their own life, every day,” said the bishop in a news release.
St. John’s is at 2814 Mariposa St. in downtown Fresno.
