The managers of the state power grid issued a Flex Alert for the second consecutive day starting at 4 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m Thursday.
A Flex Alert is a statewide call for voluntary conservation.
With the west baking under another heatwave, the California Independent System Operator expects high electricity demand and the tightening of available power supplies.
Cal-ISO says that more Flex Alerts are possible through the Labor Day weekend as record-setting temperatures are forecast.
California, the #FlexAlert has been extended to today, Sept. 1, from 4-9 p.m. You can now indicate your willingness to participate to more reliably measure consumer #energyconservation patterns. Participate here: https://t.co/cSVjvyllQ1
