Former CSU Chancellor Joseph Castro will receive $401,364, as well as a $7,917 monthly housing allowance, after resigning amid a scandal erupting from his handling of sexual harassment allegations while he was president of Fresno State, The Los Angeles Times reported.
The salary is the midpoint between Castro’s final salary as chancellor and the maximum for a full-time CSU professor, The Times said. His housing allowance ends in February of next year.
Castro’s settlement also gives him the option of joining the faculty at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
The settlement states that it is “a compromise of disputed claims and is not an admission by any party of any liability,” The Times reported.
