Kyle Larson, who has nine NASCAR Cup Series wins this season, and defending Cup Series champion Chase Elliott have committed to racing at Merced Speedway on Nov. 23-24.

Larson has entered both the NOS Energy USAC National Midget Series event and the Merced Winged 360 Sprint Car event while Elliott will make his sprint car debut on the dirt quarter-mile track.

Arguably the best all-around driver in the United States, Larson has recorded victories in some of the biggest sprint car races, including the Kings Royal, Knoxville Nationals, and Chili Bowl.

The Elk Grove native will drive owner Kevin Kozlowski’s No. 57 winged sprint car —the same car he piloted in winning the 2020 event at Merced Speedway. In the midget event, Larson will drive his own No. 1k car.

Elliott Will Drive for Tarlton Motorsports

Meanwhile, Elliot will drive the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21 sprint car. Tarlton Motorsports of Fresno has a partnership with Hendrick Motorsports, so the pairing is natural as Elliott continues his interest in dirt open-wheel racing.

Elliott and Larson are Hendrick Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series. Both have qualified for the “Final Four” race on Sunday in Phoenix that will determine the series champion. The two other drivers competing for the NASCAR title are Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr.

Tickets are available online at this link, and there will be tickets available at the track. The prices are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and military, and $5 for youth 6-12. Children under 5 are free.

Merced Speedway is at 900 Martin Luther King Drive.
