On the last full day of the campaign to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom, both the no on recall and yes on recall sides plan to finish strong.

President Joe Biden travels to California for the first time as president, campaigning for Newsom at a 7 p.m. event at Long Beach City College.

Biden is mixing business too, traveling to Boise, Idaho, in the morning and the Sacramento area in the afternoon to discuss wildfires. The president is expected to arrive at the Sacramento Mather Airport at 2:15 p.m. and tour the Caldor Fire in El Dorado County. He is scheduled to deliver remarks back at the airport at 4:25 p.m. before departing for southern California.

GOP’s Kiley Makes Fresno Stop Tonight

Kevin Kiley, the Republican assemblyman from Rocklin running as a replacement for Newsom, scheduled a campaign stop for 5:30 tonight at the Fresno County Republican Party headquarters,  770 E. Shaw Avenue, suite 220.

Another Republican replacement candidate, businessman John Cox, is making stops today in Sacramento at the State Capitol and in Yountville at The French Laundry restaurant.

Conservative talk show host Larry Elder, who polls highest among Newsom’s potential replacements, complete “Recall Express” bus tour today in Monterey Park, Los Angeles, and San Pedro.

Where to Vote in Fresno County

The county has 44 voting centers open today and tomorrow between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. A list of them can be found here. There are also several drop boxes, which can be found here.

Additionally, all ballots were sent with pre-paid return postage that can be sent through any mailbox. As long as it is postmarked by Tuesday and arrives by Sept. 21, the vote will count.

Both major county political parties are planning local watch parties on Tuesday night.

Local Democrats plan to meet at Full Circle Brewery in downtown Fresno; the Republicans will gather at Cool Hand Luke’s in Clovis.
