Bounce houses aren’t just for little kids at neighborhood birthday parties, as Fresno will find out again in a few months.

Big Bounce America’s bouncy castle, certified by the Guinness Book of Word Records as the world’s largest bounce house, is one of four large inflatables on a nationwide tour and scheduled to be in Fresno Oct. 1-3.

The castle, 32 feet high at its high point and covering more than 13,000 square feet, includes giant slides, ball pits, climbing towers, and basketball hoops as well as a central area where a DJ will get the dance party started and keep it going.

New to Big Bounce America’s inflatable lineup is Sport Slam, which is filled with hoops, climbing zones and a “battle zone.” The other bounce houses are The Giant, an obstacle course-filled inflatable, and airSPACE, a space-themed venue with friendly aliens, ball pits, a maze, and a five-lane slide.

Big Bounce America’s location in Fresno is yet to be announced. Aimee Caneva, marketing and communications manager for the Fresno/Clovis Convention and Visitors Bureau, told GV Wire she won’t be surprised if it’s at the Granite Park Sports Complex, as it was in 2019 and was scheduled for March 2020. In 2018 Big Bounce America set up at the Fresno Fairgrounds in the days prior to the Big Fresno Fair.

When told that the big bounce houses are open to grown-ups — so long as they take off their shoes — as well as kids, Caneva was surprised. “Oh wow, I never heard that,” she said.

Tickets start at $19. All-access tickets provide a three-hour pass to the event, including a timed session on The World’s Largest Bounce House as well as unlimited access to Sport Slam, The Giant and airSPACE.

Fresno bouncers will need to be a bit patient because tickets aren’t available for sale yet. The company’s website provides a form to get updates by email.
