You can now get a coronavirus vaccination at 137 Walmart and Neighborhood Market stores and six Sam’s Clubs in California.
Among them: 10 Walmarts and Neighborhood Markets from Merced to Visalia — including three in Fresno.
Eligible adults can make a vaccine appointment online at these special Walmart and Sam’s Club web pages, the nation’s largest retailer said Thursday.
Patients will get a digital reminder of when it’s time for the second vaccination.
“Our associates have been heroes throughout this pandemic, and we are so grateful for them,” said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, Walmart’s executive vice president for health and wellness. “We will continue to support our associates — and the communities we serve — as we administer vaccines and help reopen the country.”
Vaccinations Given Seven Days a Week
The vaccinations, which are free, are available seven days a week. But scheduling is contingent on the availability of the different vaccines.
The company said that vaccines will be given to those who meet the current phase of eligibility, which can be found at covid19.ca.gov. On Thursday, the shots were opened up to all residents aged 50 and older. In addition, all teachers and other school staff are eligible for vaccinations.
Walmart is administering vaccines in more than 3,800 stores and clubs across 48 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C.
