Detective Radke with the Merced Police Department is putting out a plea for someone to identify a man seen stealing a Buddha statue from a porch on Monday.

On March 8, 2021 the subject was caught on video stealing Buddah from the front porch of a residence on Mono Lake Avenue.

The video is now on Facebook for anyone to see and share.

“It may not seem like a big deal to some but that Buddha was given to my daughter Jamie by her brother (my son) & his wife,” said Rhoda S. Garay-Boehm in response to the post. “It meant something to Jamie.”

If you can ID the subject please contact Detective Radke at 209-388-7725 or by email at radkep@cityofmerced.org
