Fans of Fresno’s food truck scene now have a new venue for sampling the culinary offerings from local road-ready kitchens.
Fresno Street Eats is bringing a weekly Friday afternoon food truck event to Manchester Center starting this week. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will debut with five food trucks plus a fruit and vegetable vendor.
The trucks will be set up in the mall’s parking lot at Shields and Blackstone avenues.
Friday’s offerings includes Real Philly (cheesesteaks), Brickology (pizza), Rubia’s Churros, Taqueria Jalisciense (Mexican food), and Get Baked (loaded potatoes).
Mayor Jerry Dyer and City Councilman Nelson Esparza are scheduled to be on hand Friday for a ceremonial “first bite” celebration of the event.
“Fresno Street Eats’ goal is to deliver great food,” said Mike Oz, Fresno Street Eats president. “But we also want to act as a small-business incubator, creating new opportunities for our network of food trucks and vendors during uncertain times. Reviving places like Manchester is essential to making Fresno a better place.”
