Field of Light at Sensorio in Paso Robles is a 15-acre walk-through experience comprised of more than 58,800 stemmed spheres lit by fiber optics, “gently illuminating the landscape in subtle blooms of morphing color that describe the undulating landscape,” according to its website.
That experience has been muted for months due to the pandemic, but will light up again when it reopens on April 15. Organizers plan to keep it open through September 30.
The site’s new installation, Light Towers, celebrates Paso Robles’ wine country environment, featuring 69 towers made from more than 17,000 wine bottles, illuminated with glowing optic fibers with colors that morph to a musical score.
“Powered by solar, these stunning exhibits captivate visitors, inviting them to engage with the landscape and environment through an ethereal light based and sculptural experience,” organizers write on the website.
