The Tulare County Health and Human Service Agency on Wednesday announced the death of a minor from COVID-19 related causes.
The announcement did not include the age or sex of the child. The agency also did not include whether the child suffered from any underlying health conditions.
“This is a grim reminder that we are all vulnerable to this unforgiving virus that has taken a life too soon,” said Carrie Monteiro, Tulare County HHSA public information officer. “Our hearts are with the family as they mourn the loss of their child.”
The child contracted the coronavirus then developed multisymptom inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), according to the county Health and Human Services Agency.
