SubscriptionFilmmaker George Lucas, creator of the “Star Wars” dynasty, has filed a lawsuit seeking to retain control over a slice of his property in San Anselmo that could be subject to a century-old real estate dispute.
In the suit, filed in Marin County Superior Court against the town of San Anselmo and the previous property owners, Lucas is seeking to clarify his ownership over the part of his property on Sequoia Drive where his home is located. The tract of land was originally a road easement.
The suit seeks to use the force — of law — to clarify that Lucas, not the property’s previous owner or the city, is the legal owner of the strip of land.
