The number of students quarantined by the Visalia Unified School District has risen from 54 to 66 in a day.
This comes after the district quarantined 12 students on Wednesday at Riverway Elementary School, according to communications coordinator Kim Batty.
“We had 12 students placed on quarantine as a precaution after receiving a report of a positive case within the classroom,” she explained.
Riverway is the fifth VUSD school in which a classroom was quarantined. The district has more than 20 elementary schools overall, but only students up to second grade have returned for in-person learning.
