Target is among the retail chains trying to keep customers and employees safe during the COVID-19 epidemic.
For example, the Target store in northwest Fresno at Shaw and Marks avenues now has floor markers leading up to checkouts. The markers are intended to help customers maintain “social distance” with each other.

The floor decals were among several changes announced by Target CEO Brian Cornell Wednesday morning.
“We’ll have a team member stationed at our store entrances to make sure carts are clean and available in an orderly fashion,” Cornell said in a news release.”We’re adding signs at the front of stores and floor decals at the check lanes to maintain safe distances between guests as they shop.
“Our check lanes will be cleaned after each guest transaction, and dedicated team members will guide guests in line while that happens. For the foreseeable future, our stores will rotate the use of our check lanes to allow those not in use to be deep-cleaned.”

Target will also stop accepting in-store product returns and exchanges for the next three weeks. Also, starting next week, Target will reserve Tuesday and Wednesday mornings —and Target CVS stores will open their pharmacy locations early to accommodate shopping for vulnerable guests, including the elderly and those with underlying health concerns.
Walmart announced U.S. stores will adjust operating hours to 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Stores that open later than 7 a.m. will continue their regular starting hours. All stores will have limits for customers in certain categories, including paper products, milk, eggs, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, water, diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food.

Similar to Target, Walmart stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers aged 60 and older.
Save Mart stores started offering special Tuesday and Thursday hours, 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., for seniors and those with compromised health this week.
