California’s First Elected Official to Announce Positive Coronavirus Test Details His Experience

Late Saturday night, in a video shared on social media, Steve Padilla announced he’d tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Padilla, is a city council member in the San Diego area suburb of Chula Vista and also serves as chair of the California Coastal Commision. He is also, now, the first elected official in California known to have contracted the virus.
“It’s really like the worst flu you’ve ever had. It’s not fun, Padilla said.
“My body is fighting like hell to battle this thing.”
