As we shop and prepare for Thanksgiving dinner, we can be grateful for California’s massive agricultural output.
The shopping list for the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Thanksgiving meal survey includes turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, rolls with butter, peas, cranberries, a veggie tray, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and coffee and milk, all in quantities sufficient to serve a family of 10 with plenty for leftovers.
If your Thanksgiving feast has any of the following foods, it has California to thank. The state is the sole producer (99% or more) for the following crops.
