Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) is making a California weekend of his campaign trip to the Golden State as he stumps for the Democratic nomination for president.
It starts Thursday night with an event opening his San Francisco campaign office. Then, Friday afternoon, he holds a campaign rally in Oakland.
Sanders will fly into Fresno to appear at his 6 p.m. rally at Fresno City College. Speaking at the school’s Veterans Peace Memorial Lawn (just south of the FCC gymnasium), Sanders will talk about the Green New Deal.

Fresno Speaker Lineup

Jewel Hurtado
Other speakers during the event: Sanders’ Central Valley field director Alex Ramos-O’Casey; Amy Arlund from the National Nurses United union; environmental activist Pedro Antonio Hernandez; and Kingsburg councilwoman Jewel Hurtado.
The Fresno City College jazz band will provide musical entertainment.
After Fresno, he flies to Los Angeles where he has Saturday events in East LA, a Univision forum later that night in Long Beach, and another forum in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Event Logistics

The proverbial doors open at 4:30 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis. The event is open to the public and no tickets are required, but the Sanders campaign is asking those planning to attend to RSVP at this link. Perhaps fitting the Green New Deal theme, the campaign said “attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool.”
Parking on campus will be free.
