As part of an ongoing speaker series, GV Wire is bringing author Alison Weir to our community to present her views on Israel’s treatment of Palestinians.
Ms. Weir is a journalist, author, and researcher who has spoken at numerous universities, including Harvard Law School, the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey,  the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and American University.

We welcome thoughtful debate on this subject and this speaker, as well as any of the topics we cover. Our hope is that audience members will reach their own conclusions based on the information presented.
A question-and-answer session will follow Weir’s presentation.
We do not take a position on the speaker’s information. Our goal is to provide different perspectives than those customarily provided by the mainstream media on issues of global concern.
Continuing our efforts to examine important topics from all sides, we are reaching out to Jewish organizations to schedule a speaker who will provide a countering viewpoint to Weir’s analysis at a future date in our speaker series.
Weir’s talk is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Clovis Community College.
The Anti-Defamation League and other organizations are highly critical of Weir. Says the ADL: “Alison Weir has established herself as a prominent voice in the anti-Israel movement. … (who) employs anti-Semitic imagery.” You can read the ADL’s complete statement about Weir at this link.
Responds Weir: “They can’t find a single thing I’ve said or written myself that supports their accusations. That’s because there are none.”
