An aeronautically themed restaurant is taking over a big chunk of the space that once was World Sports Cafe at River Park shopping center. And The Hangar is hiring.
Interviews for job openings will be held 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the restaurant-to-be, which is scheduled to open this summer.
Gourmet burgers appear to be menu centerpiece of the restaurant. Its website offers heavy hints of aircraft and aerodrome flourishes inside the restaurant, located at one of the shopping center’s main entry points.
The prime space has been empty since World Sports Cafe, owned by Edison High School graduate and former San Francisco 49er Tim McDonald, closed in 2014. Earlier this year, J Pot, a Chinese hot pot restaurant, opened in what was a portion of the World Sports space.
