U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd sentenced a Fresno man to 33 months in prison Monday for producing false identification documents such as green cards and social security cards.

According to court documents, in March and May 2018, Fernando Hernandez-Hernandez manufactured and sold the fakes to buyers.

He made more than 25 false documents or sets of false documents and was in possession of document-making tools, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott said in a news release.

Convicted Man Deported Before

Hernandez-Hernandez is a Mexican national. He has been previously deported from the U.S. after being convicted of a felony in state court.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura D. Withers prosecuted the case following an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.
