On Tuesday, 750 Central Unified students received brand new coats thanks to the support of the Granville Home of Hope through its partnership with the Foundation for Central Schools. The distribution took place at Steinbeck Elementary in Fresno.

“Many students in our district arrive at school without warm clothing during the winter months, impeding their ability to learn or play outside in cold temperatures. We are fortunate to have had the support of Darius Assemi and Granville Homes for many years and it’s always a treat to see the kids’ faces when they receive a new coat,” said Superintendent Mark Sutton.

Granville Homes has been supporting the Coats for Kids program for 10 years resulting in over $260,000 for underprivileged students in our community.

“This is where the private sector, the community, non-profits and the government need to come together to help remove abject poverty from our area,” Assemi, the president and CEO of Granville, says. “We need to come together as a community and work hard so that our kids and our hard working families have an opportunity to provide for themselves.”
