LA aims to ‘capture’ 5 billion gallons of water each year with new project at the Tujunga Spreading Grounds

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has embarked on a $29-million project which will double the amount of stormwater that can be captured at the facility, to about 5 billion gallons per year. The project is expected to be completed in 2018 and will double the current capture and storage ability of 2.5 billion gallons.

Construction began Monday on a project at the Tujunga Spreading Grounds that is expected to double the amount of stormwater that can be captured at the facility to about 5 billion gallons per year.
