In less than three weeks, Clovis voters will decide on three council seats, two of which are guaranteed to put someone new in office. Of those three races, only one has more than one person running: Drew Bessinger vs. Paul Soares to fill the remaining two-years of Harry Armstrong’s term. Armstrong served more than four decades before retiring last year.
For the two four-year seats, only two candidates are running: incumbent Lynne Ashbeck and planning commission member Vong Mouanoutoua.
Bessinger, a former Clovis police captain, and Soares, a health care executive, spoke with GV Wire along the campaign trail. They discussed why they are running, their thoughts for growth in Clovis and how the city compares to its neighbor, Fresno. Watch below!
