Fresno State has been ranked as number 25 in a list of the Nation’s top universities by Washington Monthly, among other leading schools including ivy league schools such as Stanford, Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Duke University and Dartmouth.

Fresno State President Dr. Joseph Castro shared the news during a press conference this morning that among public institutions, Fresno State ranked number 13. Dr. Castro noted that Fresno State was the only public campus in the top 30, and that Fresno State is the only member of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities to be included in the list. This is the first time in Fresno States one hundred and five year history to be included amongst all of the top Doctoral and Research Universities throughout the country.

The rankings are based on the universities contribution to the public good in three distinct categories including social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs) and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
