Bakersfield Woman Accused of Drowning Newborn Grandson Guilty of Murder, Jury Finds

A Kern County jury has found a woman accused in the death of her newborn grandson guilty of first-degree murder.
Beant Dhillon, 45, faces life in prison on charges including murder, assault of a child under the age of 8 resulting in death and willful cruelty to a child.
She drowned the newborn child after her teen daughter gave birth inside the bathroom of the family’s Bakerfield home, prosecutors said.
