If you’ve got old computers, TV’s, cell phones, or other high tech gizmos gathering dust in the garage or attic, help is on the way in the form of a free electronics recycling event on Saturday in Fresno.

Electronic Recyclers Inc. is hosting a drive through household e-waste drop-off at their local facility from from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The location is south of downtown Fresno at 3243 S. East Ave. with easy access from highways 99 and 41.

ERI will host an e-waste drop off event at their Fresno facility on Saturday.

You’ll need to register online for a drop-off appointment. Appointments are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

You can recycle: computers (desktop and laptops), monitors (CRT and flat screen), all-in-one computers, tablets, mice/keyboards, printers, fax machines, VCR/DVD players, cable boxes/DVRs, stereo equipment, cell phones, gaming consoles, and televisions (CRT and flat screen).

ERI says it will recycle the e-waste collected at the event and destroy all stored data, even when a device is not fully destroyed.

The ERI event is being conducted in partnership with electronics manufacturer TCL.

“By working together, we are succeeding in getting the word out about the importance of responsibly recycling electronics while helping the great people of Fresno keep unwanted items out of landfills,” said ERI co-founder John Shegerian.

ERI is not accepting air conditioners, refrigerators, large appliances, humidifiers, smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, pressurized canisters, oil or gas devices, fluorescent bulbs, neon signs, or batteries.
