Iran expert Trita Parsi said on Hill.TV’s “Rising” Tuesday that a potential Israeli strike on an Iranian nuclear facility could be pushing the U.S. toward war.
Parsi said that the more than a dozen “suspicious” explosions reported at Iranian nuclear facilities are unlikely to be accidents, and some have speculated U.S.-backed Israel is behind them. Israel’s defense chief said earlier this month that they are not “necessarily” behind all incidents of fires at Iranian nuclear facilities.
“Iran is a big country, accidents do happen, but this many in this short of a period, in this many strategic targets is extremely unlikely to just be accidents,” Parsi said.
He said that if the reports are true “this is dragging the U.S. closer to war.”
