Fresno State will hold its second annual Day of Giving event Thursday.
Day of Giving is a 24-hour online fundraising campaign. It was started so that the Fresno State community could showcase their Bulldog pride philanthropically and on social media.

“This campaign helps us tell the world that we are proud to be a part of Fresno State and that we are helping prepare students to serve and to lead in the Central Valley, the state, and beyond.” — Jennifer Mariucci, associate director of digital fundraising and regional engagement at Fresno State
“This campaign helps us tell the world that we are proud to be a part of Fresno State and that we are helping prepare students to serve and to lead in the Central Valley, the state, and beyond,” said Jennifer Mariucci, the associate director of digital fundraising and regional engagement.
Last year, the digital fundraising campaign attracted 1,123 donors from 29 states and raised $424,755.
“Our first Day of Giving exceeded our expectations and truly showed the power of the Bulldog community,”  Mariucci said.
Mariucci said she hopes to increase participants in each Day of Giving event as the college continues its mission to empower students for success.
“Everyone’s gift will make an impact on the next generation of leaders coming out of Fresno State,” Mariucci said.

Who To Give To?

Those interested in participating in the event will have the opportunity to donate to any of the 15 groups participating.

Over 1,000 people participated in Fresno State’s Day of Giving event last year and raised over $420,000.
Some of the groups include the Henry Madden Library, Alumni Association and the Lyles College of Engineering.
Not sure which organization to support?
Click on Fresno State Central Funds and give to the Fresno State Annual Fund. This fund provides for the highest priorities on campus.
Want to give to a specific department or program? Click on the “other” tab and describe the area you want to support.
“Please be as specific as possible to ensure your gift is designated to the area desired,”  Mariucci said.

Matching Gifts

The Day of Giving is a chance to multiply the positive impacts thanks to gift-matching opportunities from university donors. Some examples:

Anyone can participate in Day of Giving, a 24-hour online fundraising campaign.
DermaTRUTH will match gifts for the College of Social Sciences’ Dean’s Circle Challenge. It will match gifts from 2 to 3 p.m. at $200 each up to a total of $1,000.
The Anne du Pontavice Trust will match gifts for the College of Social Sciences’ Jewish Studies Program. It will match gifts at $500 each up to a total of $2,500. The timeline is from 10 to 11 a.m., and from 4 to 5 p.m.
“Everyone’s gift will make an impact on the next generation of leaders coming out of Fresno State.”— Jennifer Mariucci

Feed the D.O.G.

Fresno State’s Day of Giving accepts gifts of $10 or more. Each gift is 100 percent tax-deductible. Donors will receive an e-mail confirmation that will serve as their receipt for tax purposes.

To help get more people involved, Mariucci recommends donors use the hashtag #FresnoStateDOG on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and encourage others to “Feed the D.O.G.”
