“These farmworkers are feeding the nation, and have suffered through during this pandemic. We want to protect the health of as many people as we can especially as we head into the busiest time for agricultural workers.” — Dr. Olga Meave, chief medical officer, Clinica Sierra Vista
“We feel confident as an organization given vaccination supply from our federal partners … to open up appointment requests to more patients,” said Clinica Sierra Vista spokesman Tim Calahan. “We want to vaccinate as many people as possible who are requesting an appointment.”

No Appointments Needed Today in Delano, Lamont
Clinica Sierra Vista is honoring the life and legacy of civil rights activist and farmworker rights leader Cesar Chavez with free COVID-19 vaccination events today in Delano and Lamont. No appointments are needed, walk-ins are encouraged and no documentation is required, Calahan said.
“We are in a race against time to vaccinate as many farmworkers as we can before the summer months,” said Calahan. “One of the biggest challenges and barriers for farmworkers is simply finding the time to receive a vaccination. We want to make it as easy as possible and available right away, before the height of the harvest season … .”
Said Clinica Sierra Vista Chief Medical Officer Dr. Olga Meave:Â “These farmworkers are feeding the nation, and have suffered through during this pandemic. We want to protect the health of as many people as we can especially as we head into the busiest time for agricultural workers.
