House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield) condemned the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday and called on President Trump to make a statement in a bid to calm the mob in an interview on CBS.
“What we are currently watching unfold is un-American. I am disappointed,” McCarthy, the top House Republican who represents part of Tulare County, said in an interview on CBS News. “I am sad. This is not what our country should look like.”
Rep. David Valadao (R-Hanford), who also represents part of Tulare County, echoed McCarthy’s denunciations.
