Relief from the Valley’s searing triple-digit heat is close at hand.
After Monday’s expected high of 107 degrees, the National Weather Service forecast calls for 101 on Tuesday followed by a soothing drop to 92 on Wednesday.
“A trough of low pressure will break down the ridge and provide noticeable cooling across the region through the remainder of the week and into the weekend” the NWS said in its Monday forecast discussion. “We are expecting temperatures to drop to near normal to just below normal. … Hopefully we can enjoy some cleaner air and cooler temperatures this week and weekend.
Fresno area temperatures Thursday through Sunday are expected to range between 94 and 96 degrees. Lows will be in the mid-60s, predicts the NWS.
According to The Weather Channel, the cool-off will last until Wednesday, Aug. 25, when 100-plus degree temperatures return.
