Wired Wednesday: Why Is PG&E Constantly Raising Rates and How Can Ratepayers Fight Back?

The California Public Utilities Commission is considering a monthly fixed surcharge for ratepayers based on household income and to be paid on top of the monthly bill balance.
The surcharge is intended to support the cost of the state’s electrical grid.
During this edition of Wired Wednesday, GV Wire News Director Bill McEwen breaks down the details about the surcharge and a series of rate hikes with KMPH FOX26 “Great Day” co-anchor Justin Willis. They also explain what PG&E customers should look out for, and McEwen calls for rate hikes to be tied to the Cost of Living Index.
