How to Watch

The debate video can be found live at gvwire.com. It will also be streamed to GV Wire’s Facebook page, and can be seen on CMAC 1— Xfinity Ch. 93; AT&T U-Verse Ch. 99; or on the CMAC webpage.

Video from the forums will also be archived on GV Wire’s platforms.

District 3 Forum Starts at 5 P.M.

Starting at 5 p.m., candidates for District 3 will meet to discuss issues and the election. The invited candidates include incumbent Sal Quintero, Fresno city councilmembers Luis Chavez and Miguel Arias, and music teacher EJ Hinojosa.

Quintero is running for his third term, first winning in 2016. Chavez served as Quintero’s chief of staff when the latter served on the Fresno City Council. Chavez succeeded Quintero on the city council in 2017. Chavez previously was an elected Fresno Unified School District trustee.

Arias has served on the Fresno City Council since 2019. This is Hinojosa’s first time running for public office.

The district covers much of the southern end of the city of Fresno, including downtown, Fresno Yosemite International Airport, and county neighborhoods south of Fresno.

All candidates are registered Democrats.

District 2 Follows at 6:30 P.M.

Following at 6:30 p.m., all candidates for Fresno County Supervisor District 2 have been invited to participate: Steve Brandau, Garry Bredefeld, Paul Dictos, Dion Bourdase, and Bryce Herrera.

Brandau is the incumbent. First elected in a 2019 special election, he is running for his second full term. Previously, he served as a Fresno city councilmember. Bredefeld, a current Fresno city councilmember, is in the last year of his second term, returning in 2017 — he also served a term from 1997 to 2001.

Dictos is the elected Fresno County Assessor-Recorder, first winning office in 2010. Bourdase, a Fresno County social worker, and Herrera, a business owner, are running for public office for the first time.

The district covers much of north Fresno, including the River Park area, Fresno State, and parts of Clovis.

Brandau and Bredefeld are Republicans. Dictos and Herrera are Democrats. Bourdase is registered without a party.
