A Fresno reporter considered one of the best at covering politics and the courts is leaving for the Twin Cities.

Corin Hoggard, ABC 30’s ace reporter since 2005, is headed to Minneapolis.

Hoggard’s daughter attends the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.

“Next Friday will be my last day to tell the stories of the Central Valley on ABC30,” Hoggard wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday. “I don’t know how to say goodbye. I don’t know how to express how much all of you and this place mean to me. I didn’t want to write this post because it’s incredibly hard for me. This community embraced me as one of its own and trusted me to do a thorough job sharing difficult emotions with sensitivity.”

Hoggard said that he has reported nearly 4,000 stories during his time in Fresno.

He did not announce if he will continue working in television.

A Midwest Return

The move to the Midwest is a return home for Hoggard.

Hoggard grew up in Fargo, North Dakota. He attended the University of Houston, where he worked as a producer for the ABC-owned-and-operated station prior to coming to Fresno (also a network O&O).

His brother, with his family, live there.

“We already have a network of friends in the Twin Cities, including the twins who were my best friends growing up. So as hard as it is to leave everything behind, we’re excited to make the jump! We know we’ll love it as soon as winter goes away,” Hoggard wrote.

His friends and colleagues plan a going-away party later this week.

[Update, 12/22/2022: the original story reported that Hoggard and his sister-in-law were originally from the Twin Cities. They are both from Fresno.]

KSEE/CBS 47 News Director Leaving

Lisa Burger (LinkedIn)

Lisa Burger, news director at KSEE-24 and CBS 47, is leaving the duopoly, multiple sources tell GV Wire.

She has been the news director since 2019 at the NBC and CBS affiliates. She is leaving for a similar title with KTXL-40, the Fox affiliate in Sacramento. All stations are owned by Nexstar Media Group.

Burger spent 10 years as a producer down the street at KMPH Fox 26, before executive roles at TV stations in San Diego and Denver.

The move is expected next month.

David Taub,
Senior Reporter
Curiosity drives David Taub. The award-winning journalist might be shy, but feels mighty with a recorder in his hand. He doesn't see it his job to "hold public officials accountable," but does see it to provide readers (and voters) the information needed to make intelligent choices. Taub has been honored with several writing awards from the California News Publishers Association. He's just happy to have his stories read. Joining GV Wire in 2016, Taub covers politics, government and elections, mainly in the Fresno/Clovis area. He also writes columns about local eateries (Appetite for Fresno), pro wrestling (Off the Bottom Rope), and media (Media Man). Prior to joining the online news source, Taub worked as a radio producer for KMJ and PowerTalk 96.7 in Fresno. He also worked as an assignment editor for KCOY-TV in Santa Maria, California, and KSEE-TV in Fresno. He has also worked behind the scenes for several sports broadcasts, including the NCAA basketball tournament, and the Super Bowl. When not spending time with his family, Taub loves to officially score Fresno Grizzlies games. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Taub is a die-hard Giants and 49ers fan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with dual degrees in communications and political science. Go Blue! You can contact David at 559-492-4037 or at Send an Email
