Halloween night will bring nearly perfect temperatures for trick-or-treating families Monday before the first significant storm of the season hits Fresno.

Light rain will likely fall on the parched San Joaquin Valley, including Fresno, beginning Tuesday and be accompanied by snow in the Sierra.

The National Weather Service in Hanford expects rain totals of a quarter to-half inch through Wednesday night. The snowfall range is one to four inches at elevations above 5,000 feet.

A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from Tuesday morning to Wednesday night.

Thursday’s clearing pattern will produce an overnight low of 38 degrees.
