Tired of that long walk and wait at the concession stands at Fresno State’s stadiums? Or maybe you want to have the stats of your favorite players at your fingertips? Starting this fall, perks that many major league sports fans already enjoy will be available to Bulldog fans.
Digital Seat Media, a Texas-based “fan engagement technology platform,” is partnering with Fresno State Athletics — specifically, with Bulldog Sports Properties, the multimedia rights holder of Fresno State Athletics — on stadium upgrades through at-seat tagging.
Using their smart phones, fans can scan a QR code on a tag at their seat to access team rosters, live scores and statistics, game day polling, sponsor offers, and “in-seat food & merch,” Digital Seat Media said in a news release announcing the partnership.
The company is installing 49,146 tags with unique QR codes on bleachers and seating at Valley Children’s Stadium, Margie Wright Diamond, Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium, and the soccer arena.
Fans will be able to gain access without downloading an app and regardless of signal strength, the company said.
Digital Seat Media has installed more than 1 million digital seat tags at more than 40 venues so far, including the Rose Bowl, Baylor University, University of Washington, and Paycom Center (home of the Oklahoma City Thunder).
The partnership, which Digital Seat Media announced this week, was confirmed by Frank Pucher, Fresno State Athletics senior associate athletics director.
A spokeswoman for Digital Seat Media declined to divulge details of the partnership’s revenue-sharing agreement.
