A Stanislaus County resident wants answers after 544 pieces of mail from the assessor’s office were stamped with the anti-President Joe Biden slogan “Let’s Go Brandon.”

“This is taxpayer’s money, and they’re using this derogatory stamp to show what somebody thinks about it, and we’re paying for it. It’s just not right,” Vicky Boese told CBS13 in Sacramento.

Stanislaus County Assessor Don Gaekle pointed the finger at contractor ABC Direct, which printed the envelopes stamped with the Biden insult.

“We’re a nonpartisan government office doing the taxpayer’s business, and we apologize that this mistake offended taxpayers, and we want to make sure that it never happens again,” said Gaekle.

Origin of ‘Let’s Go Brandon’

“Let’s Go Brandon” is conservative code for “F—- Joe Biden.” The slogan is popular among Republicans wanting to indicate they’re in sync with the party’s conservative base.

The phrase began last October after a stock car race at Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway.

Brandon Brown, a 28-year-old driver, was being interviewed by an NBC Sports reporter after winning the race. The crowd behind him chanted something that at first was difficult to decipher. The reporter suggested they were chanting “Let’s go Brandon” to cheer the driver. But they were actually cursing the president.
