Since its inception, the core mission of GV Wire has been to improve the quality of life for our neighbors. We do this by educating people on the issues that impact their daily lives and why those issues matter, from school boards and local government to foreign affairs.

However, there are some moments and events that beg for more direct action. Moments where we are required to do more than stay on the sidelines and report. The brutal and unjust invasion of Ukraine, and the resulting humanitarian crisis, is one of those moments.

In an effort to help get relief to the refugees who need it most, GV Wire and our parent company, Granville Homes, are supporting Mercy Corps and their work in and around Ukraine. We have partnered with Mercy Corps in the past, and we are confident that they have the experience, infrastructure, and people in place to make an immediate difference.

We have committed to match up to $20,000 in funds that are donated to Mercy Corps through the Granville Relief Fund. To make your donation and double your money’s impact, visit mercycorps.org/granville.

As of Thursday morning, we were more than halfway to the goal with nearly $11,000 contributed by GV Wire readers.

Accurate reporting is critical in times of conflict. So is doing the right thing.

Thank you for being an engaged and informed GV Wire reader.
