Merced County authorities are seeking the family of Jose Antonio Bermudez IV, 51, to release his body for burial. (Merced County SO)

The Merced County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau is asking for the public’s help locating the family of 51-year-old Jose Antonio Bermudez IV.

Officials said they believe Bermudez has family somewhere in California, but their whereabouts and contact information are unknown.

Locating immediate family members is necessary for the Coroner’s Office to release his body and allow for a proper burial.
