GV Wire, in partnership with the Community Media Access Collaborative, will host a candidate forum for the open Fresno City Council District 3 seat.
Candidates confirmed to attend include Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno), Fresno Unified Trustee Keisha Thomas, and former West Park Elementary District Trustee Fernando Alvarez.
Other candidate vying for the position are Tiffany Apodaca, Jalen Swank, Larry Burrus, and Charles Montoya.
Councilmember Miguel Arias, who is currently serving in the position, is termed out.

Under election rules, a candidate who receives a majority of the vote in the June 2 primary will win the seat outright. If no candidate secures a majority, the top two vote-getters will advance to a November runoff.
David Taub of GV Wire will moderate the forum, which will focus on each candidate’s vision for District 3 and plans to address key community issues.
The debate will be live-streamed on GV Wire’s Facebook page, allowing the public to tune in and hear directly from the candidates.
The production is made possible through a collaboration with CMAC, Fresno’s Community Media Access Collaborative.
