Bakersfield Search & Rescue joined Kern County Sheriff’s deputies last week in an extensive search for a 27-year-old Hispanic man reported missing near Highway 14.
The multi-day operation involved K9 units, drones, air support, and ground crews navigating challenging terrain, the group said in a social media post. Volunteers and deputies worked side by side, combining resources and local knowledge in the attempt to locate the missing man.
Family and friends of the missing man also assisted in the search, showing “strength and determination,” Bakersfield Search & Rescue said in a statement.
Authorities and volunteers said the operation highlighted the role of community in search and rescue efforts. The man’s whereabouts remain unknown, and search teams continue their efforts while keeping the family in their thoughts.
