A crash between a truck and tanker occurred on Manning Avenue in Fresno County in dense fog, the California Highway Patrol said Monday.

The tanker pulled into the path of an approaching Tacoma pickup truck, and the Tacoma driver was able to slow down in time to avoid a deadly crash, authorities said. No injuries were reported, and all involved walked away “virtually unharmed.”

CHP officials urged drivers to slow down, stay alert, and consider delaying travel in low-visibility conditions.

“If you can’t see them, they can’t see you,” the department said in a social media post, warning that unsafe speed in fog can be deadly.
