The California Highway Patrol Porterville Area is asking for the public’s help to identify a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured another motorist Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Road 238 south of Avenue 112. Authorities said a black 2008 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound when the driver slowed to make a left turn into private property while yielding to oncoming southbound traffic.

A white 2001 Dodge 3500 flatbed welding truck, also traveling northbound, failed to stop and collided with the rear of the Chevrolet, according to CHP. The impact caused the Chevrolet to overturn, resulting in injuries to its driver.

The driver of the Dodge fled the scene following the crash, CHP said.
