Fresno Police Investigate Fatal Shooting That Claimed 25-Year-Old Woman’s Life

A 25-year-old woman died after being shot Thursday afternoon in southeast Fresno, police said.

Southeast Policing District officers responded at about 2:11 p.m. to reports of an injured person near Mayfair Boulevard and Normal Avenue, according to the Fresno Police Department. Officers found Tamika Hoy suffering from a gunshot wound.

Hoy was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Homicide detectives believe a disturbance involving multiple people occurred prior to the shooting. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood and searching for witnesses, police said.
