Merced Police Identify Suspect in Homicide of 18-Year-Old

Merced police are asking the public for help locating Moises Reyes, wanted for the Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, fatal shooting of an 18-year-old. (Merced PD)

The Merced Police Department has identified Moises Reyes as a suspect in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Hispanic male on Sunday.

Police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound and died at the scene despite life-saving efforts. The shooting reportedly followed an altercation in the 1300 block of Stuart Drive.

An active arrest warrant has been issued for Reyes on charges of murder in connection with the incident.
