Visalia police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian on Sunday.

Officers with the Visalia Police Department responded just after midnight to reports of a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near Giddings Street and Howard Avenue, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a woman lying in the roadway. The driver involved had fled the scene, according to police.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Kaweah Health, where she later died from her injuries.

Police described the suspect vehicle as a 2004–2005 Honda Civic with possible front-end damage.
