Authorities say a train collided with a vehicle Wednesday afternoon at Hammond Avenue and Effie Street in Fresno.

The Fresno Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.

Fresno City College sent text alerts advising people to avoid McKinley and Blackstone avenues, as well as Clinton and College avenues, due to a stopped freight train following the collision.

No additional details on injuries or damages were immediately available.

Update on Dec. 10 at 4:54 p.m.

Fresno City College sent an additional text message saying that the roadway is now clear.
