Fresno Fire Department Seeks Suspects in Early Morning Arson

The Fresno Fire Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two women suspected of starting a vehicle fire on East Balch Avenue.

Fire officials said the fire occurred around 1:45 a.m. Oct. 28 on the 4900 block of East Balch Avenue.

Surveillance footage shows two adult Black women in a dark-colored Volkswagen Jetta, model years 1999–2005, setting the fire. Authorities have nicknamed the suspects the “pajama pyros.”

The department’s Fire Investigations Unit is urging anyone with information to contact them.
