Four people were rescued Sunday after getting stuck in the snow at Brewer Lake OHV Trailhead in Shaver Lake, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff’s dispatchers received an emergency call from the group in a small SUV reporting low food supplies. A patrol deputy attempted to reach them but was blocked by fallen trees and poor road conditions.

The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Jeep Unit responded and safely transported the four individuals out of the area.

The Sheriff’s Office reminded the public to be prepared for sudden weather changes in the mountains, including carrying snow chains, food, water, blankets, and knowing their vehicle’s limits in difficult terrain.
